Torque wrench selection guide

Torque wrench is necessary to manage the tightening torque of Mecha-lock and coupling. ( this is possible to make the same installation whoever it is) To avoid the stretching the screw and brake from over tightening, please use the torque wrench. Please see the reference below for selection, operation, and cautions.

How to select the torque wrench

Please prepare the suitable torque wrench.

 

<Pre-setting type torque wrench>
This torque wrench is widely used for any torque. The torque adjustment is at hand.

<Single type torque wrench>
Suitable for repeatable operation

<Monkey type torque wrench>
Head is monkey type so this is suitable for N coupling series

<Plate type torque wrench>
This torque wrench is simple construction and easy to use. However it is easy to misread the scale and not suitable for Mecha-lock and couplings installation. We do not recommend this torque wrench.

How to select the head

Head type

<Hexagonal hole screw>

When you have operation space or end of shaft, this ratchet type is suitable for installation. QCK ratchet head

When you have small space for operation, please use hexagonal head
HCK Hexagonal head
HCK Hexagonal head

 

<Hexagonal head screw>

When you have enough space for box head, this is more effective for tightening the screw.

When this head is contact with shaft then please use the spanner head.

How to use

  1. Loosen the locking screw
  2. Turn the sub scale and set main scale and sub scale (pic1)
  3. Loosen the locking screw (picture1) (please change the location of pin when it contacts to locking screw)

Caution for use

  • Do not use torque wrench with long, otherwise you can not use right torque. If you use the pipe then tightening torque will be over and cause of break.
  • Grip of torque wrench should be at knurling.( picture2 - 4)
  • Please turn the torque wrench with angle (picture5 - 7)
  • Please turn the torque wrench in arrow direction (picture8)
  • Please manage the torque wrench the way manufacture recommends.
  • When you hear the sounds please stop turning the wrench. If you keep turning then it will be over torque.
  • Please turn the torque wrench gently to arrow direction.
