How to install


Cleaning of shaft surface. Clean the shaft surface of dust and rust.


About off centering.

Set the misalignment between 2 shafts within coupling capacity.
If the misalignment is large between 2 shafts, vibration, noise will occur and effect for product durability.
Our coupling is adjusted in center by installation jig before shipping from our factory, therefore coupling should be installed without loosing the clamping screw.


Confirmation of center of motor shaft

  1. Confirmation of center of motor shaftCheck the off centering accuracy of out put motor shaft.
    Find the centering accuracy by measuring the out put motor shaft before coupling installation.
    Set the dial gage as picture for measuring the off centering of motor shaft. (Fig.1)
    Off centering amount of motor shaft is established by each manufactures, however at this stage off centering might be already occurred.

How to install

  1. How to installMeasuring by dial gage at outside of coupling flange as below (Fig.2), after installed the coupling to the motor shaft with certain torque.
    Adjust off centering under 2/100 by tightening screws as assembly target accuracy. (Fig.2)
    AHT series can be installed to taper shaft(φ11,φ16)with out taking a part due to using the CN nut (easy installation nut). (Fig.3)

  1. Install the motor with coupling to the housing.
    Do not put the load in thrust direction for follow shaft installation (Fig.4). Otherwise disk may move and cause of off centering.
  2. Confirm the motor shaft rotates without any stress, when install the coupling to follow shaft without tightening. (easy centering confirmation) If the rotation is not smooth, adjust the installation location of the motor.
Install the motor with coupling to the housing.

  1. Use the torque wrench for tightening locking screws on follow shaft side. Tighten the screws gently in diagonal direction (1/2 of certain torque), later tighten with certain torque. Finally, tighten the screws in circle direction for few times.
    As drawing below, set the dial gage to outer diameter of flange of coupling on follow shaft for measuring off centering.
    Check if the disk has not been deformed by sight from back of installation.

  1. Confirmation of installation.
    Check the misangle by measuring the distance between flange surfaces (LL) with reference table below. Set the dial gage to outer diameter of flange of coupling on follow shaft for measuring an off centering. Adjust the motor location for minimize the off centering. (Fig.5)
    Off centering of outer diameter should be under 0.02mm to keep the installation accuracy.
  2. For first loosen screws.
    After the installation, machine keeps running for 30 minutes and tightened the screws again.

Confirmation of safety before uninstallation

Check your safety first before loosen the locking screws.
Turn off the main switch, check thrust load and torque are not on coupling or check the drops.


How to uninstall

How to uninstall Loosen the locking screw at side ring and install those screws in to all tapping holes of uninstallation and tighten for disconnecting from shaft.
If the locking screw hole location is the same location as uninstallation hole, then use one size up screw for uninstallation.
