For installation
Wipe up the shaft surface to clean rust, dust, and dart.
Rust protection oil is spread to this coupling for packing, therefore wipe the oil at the bore.
How to install
Install the coupling to the shaft.- Check the misalignment is small between 2 shafts by sliding the coupling right to left. If the stress is on coupling and does not slide, then inset the shim into bearing installed position to adjusting the height and angle for centering.
- After the coupling has been installed (check the installation amount of shaft is under than table 1), tighten 4 locking screws evenly by hexagonal wrench as pre installation.
- Tightening 4 locking screws in order gently (half of certain tightening torque), and tighten with certain torque in diagonal (Fig.1).
- Tighten the screws in circle ways for few times. After tightened the screws with certain torque, check if those screws does not rotate.
- For first loosen screws.
After installation, machine keeps running for 30 minutes and check the tightening torque again. (Fig.1)
Confirmation of safety before ninstallation
Check your safety first before loosen the locking screws.
Turn off the main switch, check thrust load and torque are not on coupling or check the drops.
How to uninstall
Loose the locking screw in order. Insert those loosened locking screws to uninstallation hole and tighten evenly for taking a part. If you tighten the screws at tapping hole on side ring, then side ring will be released (Fig.2). If you tighten the screw at tapping hole on body (deeper hole), side ring on the other side will be released. (Fig.3)
Use all uninstallation holes. If only one screw is tightened for taking part, this might break the screw.
Body and side ring might be fixed together after few years installation even though using by uninstall screws. In this case, process the tapping hole on thru hole of side ring and install the screw or cut this to uninstall.
